To get young people interested in STEM professions, the SPS Makeathon will take place at the international automation trade fair SPS in Nuremberg from November 12 to 14, 2024. Organized by ITQ GmbH as part of the Young Talents Days, the Makeathon offers a platform for students and vocational school pupils with a passion for technology to register for half-day workshops.
In the Makeathon area, between Halls 1 and 3C, 2.5-hour workshops are offered daily in the mornings and afternoons. In interdisciplinary teams, the participants develop innovative ideas and implement initial prototypes. A total of up to 180 places are available, which are allocated on a “first come, first served basis.”
Six well-known industrial companies – Baumüller Nürnberg, Hans Turck GmbH & Co. KG, Murrelektronik GmbH, Pepperl+Fuchs SE, SEW-EURODRIVE GmbH & Co. KG und Sick Vertriebs GmbH – provide tasks for the workshops and thus enable a direct exchange between participants and industry. Dr. Rainer Stetter from ITQ GmbH describes the event as an innovative recruiting platform: “The SPS Makeathon offers young talents the opportunity to get creative at a high technological level, while companies can present themselves in a relaxed atmosphere.”
