ITQ GmbH Duisburg organized the 7th TecTalk – Digital Transformation in Duisburg together with the Förderverein Ingenieurwissenschaften der Universität Duisburg-Essen e.V. and crossrelations brandwork GmbH. Under the motto “Vegetables below, solar power above – how agri-photovoltaics accelerates the energy revolution“, the innovative generation of renewable energy with the help of agri-photovoltaics was examined in more detail as part of a hybrid event.
The two experts Dr. Matthias Meier-Grüll, photovoltaicist and scientific coordinator at the Institute for Photovoltaics of the Research Center Jülich, and Mario Münch, company founder and electrical engineer, impressively presented the science behind Agri-PV as well as the possibilities of practical implementation. Agri-PV is intended to sustainably advance the energy transition so that Germany can achieve the climate targets it has set for itself by 2030.
Following this, a lively discussion ensued on various aspects of the topic such as the further development of PV design, where the plants should be located, how Agri-PV can be combined with nature conservation and how approval procedures can be simplified.
