Under the motto “Upgrade: Building A New Reality“, around 60 students met for the TUM Science Hackathon from 24th to 26th of June 2022. ITQ GmbH participated as a sponsor with its own Industry Challenge SMART GREEN BIO 2.0. Together with two software engineers from ITQ, five students developed innovative ideas to make the food production of the future sustainable. With the developed app “ORIGREEN” the ITQ Team won the 3rd place and a prize money of 400 Euro.
The focus of the challenge was to meet the increasing need for information and sustainability awareness of consumers when shopping for food. Over the course of three days, the participating Young Talents developed the app “ORIGREEN” with a QR scanner, which calculates a score based on parameters such as water consumption and CO2 emissions during production, as well as a health value of the product based on vitamins and other nutrients. With this score, consumers can more easily see if certain foods meet their sustainable and health standards.
By participating in the TUM Science Hackathon, ITQ GmbH has once again shown its commitment to a sustainable and digitalized future. Continuing, ITQ GmbH successfully pursues the Education 4.0 approach, which supports innovative education concepts to provide the young generation with the best future opportunities.
