From May 17th to 18th, 2022, the Packaging Valley invited to the 3. Packaging Valley Makeathonwith the support of ITQ GmbH. 5 locations, 5 challenges, 50 participants. And one common goal: innovative solutions for digital and sustainable processes in the packaging industry. The young talents dealt with future-relevant issues relating to smart solutions for digitization and resource protection in the packaging industry at the locations in Schwäbisch Hall, Waiblingen, Heilbronn, Kempten and Allmersbach im Tal.
On two exciting and intensive days, fresh ideas met the extensive know-how of experts in the packaging industry. Conclusion: inspiring! The interaction between Packaging Valley members, technology partners, universities and the students produced amazing results and confirmed the innovative power of teamwork and swarm intelligence.
Impressions of the 3. Packaging Valley Makeathon
In an informal, creative atmosphere, a special dynamic develops between the participants. A unique opportunity to bring together different ideas and interdisciplinary perspectives, to try out industry-relevant solutions under real-life conditions. And to be courageous to break new ground in digitization and in the sense of sustainability. When asked what the Makeathon stands for, Martin Buchwitz, Managing Director of Packaging Valley, has a clear answer: “The Packaging Valley Makeathon reflects our cluster in an excellent way: Technological innovation, sustainability, contacts between companies and future specialists, a flagship for the industry.”
Dr Rainer Stetter, initiator of the Packaging Valley Makeathon and Managing Director of ITQ GmbH, is proud of how the event has developed: “It’s nice to see how our original idea of the Makeathon is being carried further and our Education 4.0 approach is growing ever more. The Packaging Valley Makeathon requires and promotes unusual and creative ideas. It represents an enrichment in finding ideas for sustainable solutions in the packaging industry. All three Makeathons were a great success for those involved. This year we are particularly proud to be both the organizer and the sponsor of the Social Media Challenge. We are pleased to invite the winner of the challenge to the next SMART GREEN ISLAND MAKEATHON on Gran Canaria.”
At this point, ITQ GmbH would like to thank all partners and participants involved for the successful event and great cooperation!
