Our ITQ Branch in Duisburg continues to drive the innovative Student Project Bamboo Solar Car from 2019. A new team consisting of seventeen students from the University of Duisburg-Essen with the support of ITQ engineers will be working on a new solar car from mid-August.
This time, the focus is not on the sustainable material bamboo, but on software development; for example, ad-ons such as autonomous parking or the alignment of the solar panel based on the position of the sun.
The project starts with a five-day makeathon. ITQ will then hand over the seventh prototype of the Solar Car to the University of Duisburg-Essen. In the coming wintersemester 2020/2021, students will work on new features and functionalities as part of a block seminar. We are pleased that ITQ can once again support the training of highly motivated Young Talents and that Digital Education is advancing in Germany.
In this project, we receive support from Beckhoff Automation GmbH & Co. KG, which provides an IPC with a few IO units. Furthermore, the company The MathWorks GmbH, as an international provider of technical computing and model-based design software, provides the team with software.
Many thanks to all our partners!
